It's been six years since my mother passed away. Recently we had a memorial service for her, some relatives got together at my brother's house, and later we had dinner at a fancy restaurant.
There I had a chance to talk to my cousins for a while and had a good time.

My mother was still in her mid seventies when she died of cancer.
She went too early, and she suffered from the pain of her illness, but her spirit is everywhere, and I feel that she always helps me when I am in a quandary.

Tha day before yesterday I attended a funeral and accompanied the family to a crematorium.
I had not seen the deceased person for a long time.
I only remember that she hardly recognized me when I met her at her grandchild's wedding reception some years ago.
At the time, she was in a wheel chair because she was suffering from senility.

Compared to my mother, I guess, she died in peace at the age of 96.

It was about 1:30 in the morning when my son and I got back home with Hana.
I was so tired to walk her in the middle of the night, but I was not able to ignore her since she was sitting in front of the entrance door and occasionally looked back at me as if she was trying to motivate me to move.

I gave up going to bed and roused myself to get ready.
Then I asked my son if he would like to go with us. He knew that he would lose his precious time to play the piano, but followed us anyway.
It was quiet and cool on the street, several house dogs started barking when they noticed our foot sounds.

I felt bad for disturbing the area, but kept walking, as I was happy to know that Hana wanted to walk that long distance.

My son and I walked about 15 minutes to his high school this afternoon.
We arrived there 30 minutes early for the consultation (or interview) with his homeroom teacher.
But it was an extremely hot day today, I was able to cool down while we were waiting for our turn.

His teacher showed me his scores for all the recent examinations in all subjects and also gave us the results of the Kraepelin test.
My son got good scores on the regular exams and his personality inventory also didn't have any problems.
It says that my son is a perfectionist and a methodical person who assiduously pursues his interests to the end.
He is very sensitive, and has better foresight than any other people etc.
His teacher looked impressed by the results, and my son said that it was unbelievably accurate.

On Mt. Fuji, my son and his schoolmates were about to reach the summit yesterday at about 1 o'clock in the morning.
But a storm was ramping, so the head of the group told them they had to give up.
The students had been divided into three groups and my son was in the middle group who had thought their physical strength was average.
Until the eighth stage in the climb to the top, my son spearheaded the group, according to him.
So it was a shame they couldn't see the sunrise from the top of Mt .Fuji.

He came back home one hour earlier than scheduled, and he let out a cry in the entrance "Oh, Hana is still alive!"
Now she's sleeping, as if she gave me free time to sit and relax.
Actually she was awake all night and I had to take her outside at 3 o'clock because she wanted to go.
And now I have a feeling that I won't be able to sleep tonight again.

This morning I was woken up at 3 o'clock by Hana's snoring.
She must have been lonely and uneasy because of a respiratory disease during the night and before I knew it she came close to me and lied down by my bed.
I really pitied her for her helplessness, and I couldn't do anything but be with her.

I often remember how she was peppy before.
We walked within a radius of 1 kilometer, and she knew every inch of this area.
So she always pulled hard on her leash when she finally got hungry after a long walk and then lead me home.

The other day, I took her to the bus stop to see off my son who was heading to Mt. Fuji, as I thought she might not be able to see him a few days later.
Although I drove her to the spot so that she did not need to walk on such an extremely hot day, I obviously made her lose her strength, which I regret now.
